Responsible for the preparation and review of statutory financial reports required by various state Insurance Departments, the NAIC, and management reporting, including preparation of reports to the Board of Directors, for four Texas domiciled life insurance companies.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial results and trends for individual companies
Prepare and review quarterly statutory reports to Management and the Board of Directors
Prepare and review statutory financial statements and disclosures for quarterly/annual filings with the NAIC and state insurance departments
Perform technical research of accounting guidance and write white papers to document considerations and conclusion
Write and maintain accounting policies and procedures related to the responsibilities of this position, as well as review and ensure maintenance of policies and procedures of direct reports
Participate in and/or lead teams as assigned to projects within the financial reporting area
Communicate and interact effectively with all levels of operating area employees, as well as external auditors and examiners to successfully complete financial reporting objectives
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Minimum of 2 years financial reporting experience
CPA, insurance industry designations preferred
Statutory reporting experience desired
